2019IV. International Conference on Monitoring & Process Control of Anaerobic Digestion Plants
26. Mar - 27. Mar Anaerobic digestion is a complex process of subsequent and interacting degradation steps. The requirements and standards for the operation of biogas plants are changing due to requirements of the legal side and security of supply. Thus, a precise control of this complex biological process is crucial to make the biogas production process more

2019Retrofitting Measures for Biofuel plants
11. Sep - 11. Sep Besides erecting entirely new biofuel plants, retrofitting – i.e. replacing a part of a factory or installation with state-of-the-art equipment – can be a very good alternative to substitute fossil fuels or to upgrade renewable technology. Retrofitting often means lower capital expenditure (CAPEX), shorter lead times, faster implementation, less production time losses and lower risks. The BIOFIT project was set-up to foster retrofitting measures on the European market.

2019Transport Decarbonisation Workshop
18. Nov - 18. Nov The transport sector is specifically challenging, as transport demand is still growing, and so are the sector´s GHG emissions. Electric mobility will not be able to solve this on its own, and advanced renewable transport fuels can help to bridge the gap between GHG emission reduction targets and the prospected emission reductions. Just how large can and must the contribution of advanced renewable transport fuels be? We will provide our answer to this question at our final project workshop.

2019Roles of bioenergy technologies in energy system pathways towards a WB2/SDG world
25. Nov - 25. Nov As part of an inter-task project with the IEA Bioenergy Tasks 40, 43, 44 and 45*, an initiative to involve experts in the evaluation of the possible roles of bioenergy in WB2/SDG scenarios is being launched. Information on results and outcomes of recent studies examining how bioenergy and related technologies contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions required to achieve the WB2 target will be discussed in a workshop. Of interest are studies that are specific to a region or nation or of global importance. The studies may cover several energy sectors or focus on a single sector. The initiative focuses on the use of biomass for heat, electricity and transport.
