How can negative emission technologies be established economically in combination with bioenergy? This question will be addressed at the next Bioenergy Talk on 15 January 2026 from 10 to 11 a.m. Markus Lauer (MVV Energie AG) will present analyses on the marketability of CO₂ capture from biogenic sources and highlight the importance of integrating negative emissions into European emissions trading. Bioenergy Talk is a monthly online exchange format on the use of biomass for energy, featuring project presentations followed by discussion. The event will be held in German.

The 3rd Annual Meeting of the Energy, Chemistry and Climate Section will take place on 24 and 25 March 2026 at the DECHEMA House in Frankfurt am Main. The focus will be on efficient and sustainable technologies for the provision, conversion, storage and application of renewable energies, as well as their evaluation in a systemic context and taking into account future resource bases. The DBFZ will contribute its expertise, particularly in the field of bioenergetic processes and the use of biogenic residues and waste materials. The event will be chaired by Dr Franziska Müller-Langer (DBFZ). The DBFZ will also contribute scientific papers to the poster session, including on process stability in the co-fermentation of wheat straw and cattle manure (Bomin Yuan) and on the methanisation of biogenic CO₂-containing gases in innovative micro-slot reactors (Selina Nieß).
