Declaration on accessibility

The DBFZ Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum gemeinnützige GmbH (DBFZ) endeavours to make its website(s) and mobile application(s) accessible in accordance with the Saxon Inclusion Act (SächsInklusG) and the Barrier-free Websites Act (BfWebG) in conjunction with the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0). The BfWebG is supplemented by the Barrier-free Websites Ordinance (BfWebVO). These laws are drafted in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

This accessibility statement applies to the website www.dbfz.de (German & English) and all subordinate pages and tools.

Accessibility status

Accessibility is based on the internationally applicable Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at conformity level AA and the European standard EN 301 549, version 3.2.1. For PDF documents, the international standard PDF/UA-1 is also observed.

These website(s) are largely accessible in accordance with the above-mentioned guidelines.

The DBFZ website was completely redesigned in 2019 and built using an accessible template. The technical accessibility of the website is around 90 per cent. If you as a user still encounter technical barriers when using the website, please give us feedback using the contact details below.

Non-accessible content

Functionalities to ensure accessibility, such as sign language, are not implemented for capacity reasons.

The contents of the website correspond to the linguistic standard of a scientific institution. An overview page in easy language has been set up for orientation purposes and can be accessed via the homepage. Further selected pages in plain language are planned and will be added to the website in the future (without a deadline).

Publications that are made available on the website achieve a level of accessibility of approx. 70-95%. Some publications may not be fully accessible. If you have any questions about individual documents, please use the contact details below.

Creation of the declaration

This declaration was last updated on 3 July 2025.

We determine the status of accessibility at irregular intervals through our own review.

An official review (BIKOSAX assessment procedure) by the German National Library for the Blind (DZB) took place between 18 April 2019 and 3 May 2019. In addition, a practical test was carried out by a blind employee.

The above test will be repeated in 2026 under the same criteria.
