Kathleen Meisel studied geography at Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg. She obtained a doctorate there at the Chair of Spatial and Environmental Planning in the field of environmental assessment. Since 2010, she has been working as a research associate at the DBFZ in the working group “Applied Sustainability Assessment”. Her focus is on conducting life cycle assessments as well as other sustainability assessments of different energy and material use pathways of biomass. Her special focus is on the environmental assessment of biorefinery systems.
