Field of work
Nora Lange has been working in the Applied Sustainability Assessment working group since 2017 and is an expert on issues relating to life cycle assessment, material flow management and the flexibilisation of energy systems. As a landscape ecologist, she is also familiar with conservation planning and habitat analysis and modelling. At the DBFZ, Nora has so far carried out various tasks such as the creation of a Sankey for the representation of national biomass flows (publication) as well as research and interviews on the involvement of stakeholders in new or existing bioeconomy hubs (Power4Bio report). In another thematic focus, she and her colleagues in the working group analyse all of the DBFZ's current and past projects that deal with life cycle assessment. Since 2019, Nora has been an assistant to the International Energy Agency (IEA) Technical Board Bioenergy Task 40 (Deployment of biobased value chains), working on sustainable, efficient and profitable biobased value chains and their respective system services. Since 2020, it has also been active in Task 44 (Flexible Bioenergy and System Integration). The scientific focus of this working group is the integration of flexible bioenergy in Germany and internationally.
