VeriGreen - Verification of the sustainability of bio-based products in Central Germany

Within the BioZ Alliance, funded by the BMFTR’s WIR initiative, the DBFZ is conducting supporting research on sustainability assessment. On the one hand, an impact assessment of the BioZ projects is being carried out with regard to the goal of a climate-neutral Central German region. On the other hand, the sustainability of the bio-based products produced is being demonstrated through case studies, a certification tool for identifying the appropriate sustainability label is being further developed, and specific methodological approaches are being developed to highlight the advantages of the bio-based economy over the fossil-based economy.
