The 9^th PhD Colloquium BIOENERGY AND BIOBASED PRODUCTS (DOC2026) brings together early-career researchers from around the world for an inspiring programme combining research, skills development and networking. The event will be preceded by a workshop, to which we also warmly invite you. 

22 September 2026 – Workshop “Discover the Power of Storytelling”
Do you want to define the impact your research can have? Do you want to communicate this in a way that resonates with people outside the scientific community? In this workshop, you’ll learn the key elements of the storytelling method and put them into practice to communicate your own scientific ideas. Take your research on a hero’s journey! Receive feedback from our experts and an interdisciplinary team of colleagues who – like you – are PhD students or postdocs with a drive for innovation. Do you want to be well-prepared for your next networking event, research presentation or elevator pitch? In this workshop, you’ll learn and practise how to win over supporters or investors with your vision and personality. Develop a pitch storyline and receive feedback from experts and an interdisciplinary team of like-minded researchers, all driven by a passion for innovation.

23–24 September 2026 – 9^th Doctoral Colloquium
At the heart of DOC2026: two days of presentations and poster sessions covering the full spectrum of research into bioenergy and bio-based products. Exchange ideas with like-minded colleagues, receive feedback from experienced scientists and network with a community of 50 renowned researchers from 39 institutions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Norway. Outstanding presentations will be recognised with awards supported by the FNR and the BMLEH.
