The Working Group
The “System Optimization” working group focuses on the evaluation and optimization of biogas and biomethane pathways so that they can be operated as efficiently and sustainably as possible.

Team
The team of the working group consists of the following colleagues:
- Dipl. Umweltwiss. Jaqueline Daniel-Gromke: working group leader, monitoring of existing plants, biogas/biomethane scenarios, ecological and economic assessment of biomass concepts, policy advice
- Dipl. Geogr. Nadja Rensberg: research assistant, analysis and evaluation of the biogas plant stock in Germany and internationally, biogas operator surveys, database construction and management, geoinformation systems (GIS)
- M.Sc. Velina Denysenko: research assistant, plant inventory biogas and biomethane, EEG data by type of bioenergy source, CO2 use of innovative biomethane processes
- M. Eng. Lukas Knoll: research assistant, emission measurements at biogas, composting and biogas upgrading plants; emission measurements with the on-site approach, remote sensing approach (TDLAS) to determine total emissions at biogas plants; method development
- M.Sc. Julian Matlach: research assistant, emission measurements at biogas plants, pore gas measurements in composting processes
