Unlocking Regional bioeconomy transitions. State of the art and ways forward.
The two-day workshop “Unlocking Regional bioeconomy transitions. State of the art and ways forward”, organized by DBFZ Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum gemeinnützige GmbH and BIOREGIONS features several keynotes as well as panels about the role of regions in the European bioeconomy. The aim of this workshop is to generate a better understanding about regional key drivers and enablers, as well es providing an analysis of flagship initiatives and successful policies unlocking bioeconomy investments. Participants will be able to find out what makes a region attractive for investments in the bioeconomy sector.
The second day will consist of a study visit to the new UPM biorefinery's construction site at Leuna in Saxony-Anhalt. It serves as an example of bioeconomy investment for this region.
The workshop is organised as a hybrid event taking place on 28-29 June 2022 at DBFZ facilities in Leipzig and at UPM’s new biorefinery construction site in Leuna.
